My main research interests are the intergalactic and circumgalactic media and observational cosmology using the Lyman alpha forest. I am also interested in quasar identification and properties, including machine-learning assisted spectral classification of quasars. Typically, I work with very large samples of ground-based spectroscopic observations, including those from the DESI Collaboration of which I am a member. I also the Deputy Lead of the WEAVE-QSO survey, part of the WEAVE project, which has built a new multi-fiber optical spectrograph at the William Herschel Telescope that is starting science operations in 2023.
