My current field of research is accelerator science with focus on beam dynamics (beam stability, resonant extraction, magnetic systems). In parallel I am working on a project of a compact accelerator of electrons of the race-track microtron (RTM) type with the maximal beam energy 12 MeV. This activity is carried out at the Laboratory of Particle Accelerators (https://inte.upc.edu/ca/serveis/laboratoris/microtro ) of the Institute of Energy Technologies (https://inte.upc.edu) at the Campus Diagonal-Besòs. The current tasks include development of the RTM control system, interlocks and safety system of the accelerating hall (bunker). The envisaged application of this accelerator is material irradiation.
I am teaching a few courses on the physics and applications of particle accelerators. I am a member of the Advisory Board of the Joint Universities Accelerator School.
Also I would like to add that till 2007 I was working on problems of the theory of fundamental interactions in the framework of the quantum field theory (perturbation methods, renormalization group, theories with extra dimensions of the space-time, applications of differential geometry methods), cosmology and astrophysics (multidimensional Universe, time evolution of the fundamental constants).
