His main research activities have been related to the Thermal-Hydraulics (TH) of NPPs, Nowadays the focus of his research has broaden to include the TH of fusion nuclear reactors along with several aspects of Fusion Nuclear Technology: MHD of breeding blankets, application of TH system codes to Nuclear Fusion Plants and tritium transport modelling are key issues in his present research activity. In the recent years he is supervising research involving the use of Molecular Dynamics simulations to study the potential nucleation (and bubble formation ) of the helium created mol-to-mol with tritium in the breeding material. He has participated in several research and technology transfer projects on the topic of liquid metal breeding blankets, being principal investigator at UPC for the EUROfusion programme. Other than Fusion Energy, he is active as well in three areas of interdisciplinary research related to Fission Nuclear Energy involving Social Sciences, optimisation, and electricity grid and market modelling.


Short CV

Engineer (1992) and Doctor-Engineer (2004) from the Technical University of Catalonia. He has been in charge of several courses related to nuclear engineering, energy technology and energy resources within BarcelonaTECH. From 2004 to 2009 he participated in several Human Development Projects in Peru, India and Nepal, related to the use of renewable energy at small scale.
