He has developed his research activity in the field of astronomy, specifically in aspects of stellar kinematics and the local structure of the Galaxy, and has carried out campaigns at the Fabra, Calar Alto (Spain) and Haute-Provence and Besançon astronomical observatories (France). He has made observations of asteroids and stars (Halley, among others) and their astrometric reduction. As well as observations and reductions in the field of stellar photometry. He has participated in the HIPPARCOS satellite mission and the beginnings of the GAIA mission, both of the European Space Agency (ESA). It is integrated in the Technological Development Center of Sistemes de Adquisició Remota i Tractament de la Informació (SARTI), a unit associated with the CSIC. Between 2013-2016 he was Principal Investigator of the Plan Nacional de Investigación Advanced models for nuclear fusion environments.
In the teaching field, he has developed methodologies for the teaching-learning of technoscience based on the use of science fiction. Activities recognized with different prizes. He has created and coordinated pioneering subjects at the university level (Physics and science fiction; Science and Pseudoscience; Simulations in Physics). Between 2015-2016 he was Principal Researcher of the MOOC creation and development project (Massive and Open Online Course): Technoscience and Science Fiction: from King Kong to Einstein. He has also published works in the field of university management. He has been deputy director of Academic Organization (1994-2000) of the Higher School where he is attached.
He has carried out an intense activity in the communication of science in the media (TV, radio and press) such as, to name a couple, the weekly collaboration with the newspaper El País (354 columns, 1998-2006) and the monthly radio program on Onda Cero Catalunya (2022-...). He has taught a multitude of conferences, courses and workshops (? 500) aimed at both students and teachers at different educational levels (Primary, Secondary, University) as well as the general public.
