PhD in Atmospheric Physics at the Universitat de Barcelona, she is associate professor in the Physics Department of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Her research activity has focused on the study of the mechanisms of atmospheric transport of substances at long distances and on the mesoscale, based on her thesis work "Simulation of the long-range atmospheric transport over the northwestern Mediterranean: trajectory models and diffusion-deposition processes", supervised by Dr. Sergio Alonso. She has developed transport models that have been applied to determine the deposition of nutrients in marine ecosystems, to the transport of substances on terrestrial ecosystems, to the study of mesoscale processes, and in the study of the advection of ozone in various areas of influence of the city of Barcelona. She has collaborated in the study of Lepidoptera migrations by using source-receptor models. She has worked in the identification of odour episodes by computing backward trajectories on the output of a mesoscale diagnostic model. She has collaborated with the xarxa Aerobiològica de Catalunya (XAC) in the study of the transport of aerobiological material over Catalonia and the Canary Islands. Currently she works in the modeling of pollen emission and transport, and in the influence of meteorological synoptic patterns on airborne pollen/spore levels.
